The Challenge

A major U.S. financial services industry association sought to facilitate the introduction of certain financial products to the Chinese market and increase Chinese investors’ interest in those products in the United States.

The ASG Approach

Our China team identified key government agencies and private sector stakeholders important to establishing the domestic regulatory regime needed to introduce these products to the China market, as well as to facilitate outbound investment into these products in the United States. In addition, we helped raise the client’s profile in the financial services sector and improve its reputation as a trusted source of financial sector expertise. To advance these objectives, ASG developed and led an effective outreach strategy, introduced the client to key stakeholders, and developed messaging to highlight the ways in which these products would support China’s financial market development. ASG also provided ongoing analysis of political and economic developments that could have an impact on the association’s outreach efforts and long-term goals.

Over the course two years, our client has become a trusted resource for key regulators and policymakers in China’s financial sector, including the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC), People’s Bank of China (PBOC), and China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), as well as a number of influential industry groups.
