Hakan Akbas
Hakan Akbas is a Senior Director to Albright Stonebridge Group, a global strategy firm. Mr. Akbas has extensive international operating experience in the US, Europe, China, Turkey and Middle East. He has a proven track record of executing marketing strategies and managing cultural diversity in a range of industries to deliver sustained profitable growth.
Based in Istanbul, Turkey, and Washington, DC, Mr. Akbas brings to clients over 20 years of operating experience in leading companies with strategic planning, marketing strategy, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, and new business development. Mr. Akbas has successfully negotiated several multi-billion dollar deals including mergers & acquisitions, joint-ventures, strategic alliances and divestitures.
Mr. Akbas is also a member of the Turkish Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists (TUSKON) and an Advisory Board member of Endeavor. Mr. Akbas is a Founding and Managing Partner at Global Dealings Group, an emerging market-focused advisory firm focusing on global emerging market investments strategies, business development, transaction advisory and risk assessment.
From 2006 to 2011, Mr. Akbas was the Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy, Business Development, and Insurance Businesses of $15 billion Sabanci Group. Previously, Mr. Hakan was the co-founder and Managing Director of Business Development Operations for Xerox Global Services.
Mr. Akbas earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Simon Graduate School of Business at the University of Rochester, and a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Boğaziçi University in Turkey.
