W. Brian Healy
Brian Healy is a Senior Director at Albright Stonebridge Group, a global strategy firm. With over thirty years of experience in the field of pharmaceuticals, Dr. Healy brings to clients decades of expertise in market access, pricing and reimbursement strategies, health technology, and strategic investment.
Based in both Brussels and New York, Dr. Healy is also a Senior Adviser to the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) which represents the R&D biopharmaceutical industry with the European Community institutions in Brussels. He is a member of EFPIA’s Economic and Social Policy committee and its Sector Inquiry Task Force, which responded to DG Competition’s recent investigation. Dr. Healy is a partner of the Center for Competition, Economic Regulation, Markets (CERM) an institution operating in Brussels, Rome, and Boston.
For over thirty years Dr. Healy was an executive at Merck & Co., Inc. working in its international operations division. He established its Economic Affairs department (market access, pricing/reimbursement, health economics, and policy) and set up its Centre for European Government Affairs in Brussels where he resided for seven years. He recently retired from his position as Vice President of Economic and Industrial Affairs, after assisting in the company’s response to the Sector Inquiry. Previously, Dr. Healy was a professor on the Wharton faculty of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Healy earned a Doctorate in politics and economics from Cornell University, a Masters in International Relations from Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Science from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. He continues his academic interests as a Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics.
