Marika Heller is a Director of ASG’s China practice, where she advises clients how to mitigate strategic risk related to regulatory, economic, and geopolitical issues in the Chinese market, drawing on her consulting experience in the commodities, electronic payments, energy, manufacturing, technology, telecommunications, and transportation sectors.
Ms. Heller was previously Co-Lead of the China Practice and a China Analyst at Crumpton Group, an international business intelligence and consulting firm. In these positions she led client outreach, business analysis, due diligence, and investigative projects to help advance market positions for clients. Prior to working at Crumpton Group, Ms. Heller served as a Senior Analyst at The Asia Group, where she executed government relations campaigns and assisted multinational companies in expanding market share.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Heller served as Program Manager to an international sustainable development microfinance NGO in China’s Sichuan Province. She also worked as a Special Projects Director to a Singaporean marketing and entertainment company based in Sichuan, where she led a team in the development of marketing strategies for Chinese state-owned enterprises.
Ms. Heller received an M.A. in International Affairs with a focus on International Economics and International Management from the University of California San Diego’s School of Global Policy & Strategy, an M.A. in International Policy Studies from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, and a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Chinese from Middlebury College. She speaks Mandarin Chinese.
