Michael Madnick

Michael Madnick is a Senior Advisor with ASG, where he assists nonprofit and corporate clients around the world with strategic planning, government relations, issue advocacy and developing cross-sector partnerships. 

Mr. Madnick has served in a number of leadership positions in the international philanthropy community. He is a Senior Advisor of global philanthropy at CCS Fundraising, and a Fund Director with the Open Road Alliance. 

Previously, Mr. Madnick worked at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, where he was the Deputy Director for Global Health Policy and Advocacy. While there, he was responsible for government relations and issue advocacy, and developed an emerging donors’ initiative that led to over one billion dollars in new philanthropic investments. 

He also served as the Deputy Executive Director for the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition. Before that, Mr. Madnick worked at the United Nations Foundation as Senior Vice President, where he developed an organization-wide partnership approach to support UN causes, and was central to the creation and expansion of several new social enterprises. 

Mr. Madnick serves on a number of nonprofit leadership boards and committees including Refugees International; Friends of the Fight Against AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria; the MTV Staying Alive Foundation; and Uncharted Play, among others. Mr. Madnick authored a chapter in the 2010 book Global Philanthropy, and in 2011, he was named one of the top 40 leaders in international development under 40 by DEVEX. 

Mr. Madnick holds a J.D. from Pace University School of Law and a B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany. 

He is based in Washington, D.C.
