Aneesh Chopra is a Senior Advisor at ASG, where he uses his knowledge of cyber and innovation issues to help clients pursue growth and capture opportunities in markets around the world.
As the first Chief Technology Officer of the United States (2009-2012), appointed by President Barak Obama, Mr. Chopra used innovative techniques and platforms to improve healthcare, energy, and education, among others. In this role, he designed the National Wireless Initiative and executed an “open innovation” strategy across the government built on private sector collaboration.
Mr. Chopra is the Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of Hunch Analytics, an incubator and analytics company focused on the health care and education fields. In addition, he is author of the book Innovative State: How New Technologies Can Transform Government, which explores how the United States can tap entrepreneurial problem solvers to address challenges in health, energy, and education markets among other public and regulated sectors.
Previously, Mr. Chopra served as Secretary for Technology for the Commonwealth of Virginia, and as a Managing Director for the Advisory Board Company, a health care consulting firm.
In 2015, Mr. Chopra was named Walter Shorenstein Media and Democracy Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He holds a M.P.P. from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a B.A. in Health Policy from Johns Hopkins University.
