In-Sook Ju

In-Sook Ju is a Senior Advisor at ASG, where she assists the firm's health and life sciences clients with market access strategies, government affairs, and outreach initiatives.

Previously, Ms. Ju served at the Korean Research-based Pharmaceutical Industry Association (KRPIA), which represented the international research based pharmaceutical industry in Korea, as Director for Market Access, Regulatory Affairs and IPR, for more than 10 years.  

While at KRPIA, she worked with various Korean government agencies such as the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, and the Korea Fair Trade Commission, dealing with the issues of the industry in the areas of drug pricing and reimbursement, regulatory affairs, IPR, and the Marketing Code of Conduct.  Ms. Ju developed industry views to the government's proposed legislative changes and led industry dialogues with relevant Korean government agencies. She was a member of various government-organized drug pricing task forces and regulatory councils and represented the international industry.

Ms. Ju closely supported government negotiations over the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices chapter of the KORUS and KOR-EU FTAs from 2005 to 2007. She also coordinated the Korean Government-Industry Working Group meetings from 2002 to 2004. 

Prior to joining KRPIA, Ms. Ju was Instructor at Korea University in Seoul from 1994 to 1999. Previously, she was a Manager at Sammi Precision Industry Co. in Seoul from 1990 to 1992, where she helped manage English communications with its German partner to draw investments into Korea. 

She earned a Ph.D. in Consumer Economics from Korea University, an M.S. from Utah State University, and a B.A. in English Language and Literature from Kyung Hee University in Seoul. She speaks Korean and English.

She is based in Seoul, South Korea.
